A switchboard that picks up, understands and acts
The call is answered on the first ring, the product recognised, the stock checked. The rest goes to the team.
- Reservation
- Delivery
- Prescription
- Transfer to the team

An AI voice assistant built for the pharmacy, set up and running in under 48 hours: it understands the request, checks the medicine against real stock and takes the reservation. Anything that needs a pharmacist is transferred to the team.

calls answered by the voice assistant since 5 October 2025, while pharmacies were at work
Nexum reading of 17 September 2026, voice assistant production base, all equipped pharmacies.
Over 400 pharmacies: Nexum reading, September 2026. Innovation Award: PharmagoraPlus, March 2026.
What changes
The voice assistant handles routine requests and checks stock for the product. The team keeps the calls that need a pharmacist.
The demo
Three scenarios played as the customer experiences them: availability, delivery, prescription. The assistant talks, the pharmacy sees the reservation.
—
The voice assistant has hung up. The customer has the link: the rest happens on their phone, with nobody at the counter.
Stock is queried in your pharmacy management software
—
The code also arrives by SMS
It stays in their messages, even offline. The counter had nothing to do.

Meanwhile, the counter serves the customers in the shop.

One call, from pick-up to reservation
arrives in Nexum Pro · nobody picked up
From the call to the reservation, without the counter

How it works
No forced keypad menu, no “press 1”: the customer speaks normally, at night, on Sunday, during on-call duty, or when three lines are ringing at once.

“Do you have any space fon?” → Spasfon, is that right?
Several engines transcribe the same audio, then the medicine name is corrected: “space fon” becomes Spasfon, “doli prane” becomes Doliprane.

“500 or 1,000 mg? Tablet or effervescent?” → on the shelf
The dosage and form are asked for before answering, as a pharmacy technician would; then the stock is read in the pharmacy's management software. When out of stock, an in-stock equivalent is suggested.

SMS · “Your reservation #IVR-93 is ready · pickup”
Reservation set aside with a confirmation SMS, delivery continued on the web, or transfer to the team when a pharmacist needs to answer.

No dose, no interaction, no symptom. Anything that requires a pharmacist is transferred to the pharmacy team, which stays in control.
What the team sees
Bookings, messages, statistics: the whole workload sits in a single dashboard, at the counter and on mobile.

Every reservation taken by phone lands in the Standard vocal tab: confirm, print the ticket, capture payment at handover. The customer is notified by SMS.

Every call is classified by urgency and request type, with the caller's number; the team assigns, listens if needed, and replies by SMS without calling back.

Daily call volume, most-used menu options, peak hours, most-requested products, and each call's history, in Nexum Pro.
Based on Nexum Pro, fictitious data: the counters are those of a sample day, never a measurement.
Within the Nexum suite
It reads stock in real time, checks availability and offers an equivalent when a product is out. What it takes lands in the same queue as the other channels.
The customer calls the pharmacy's usual number, at any hour.
Picks up, understands the product, takes the reservation, transfers what requires a pharmacist.

A switchboard that talks to a pharmacy's customers commits the pharmacy: data is hosted in France on HDS servers, calls are only recorded after a legal notice, and nothing medical is ever said.
No medical advice. Any health question is passed on to the pharmacy team.
Personalisation
The owner sets up the voice assistant from Nexum Pro, with no ticket and no intervention. Every setting below exists in the app.

A pre-configured flow to start, a welcome message imported, generated, or recorded by microphone.
Menu options and the team's numbers to reach, with their order and ring duration.
The weekly schedule; outside these slots, transfers switch to the answering machine.
Approval before payment, reservation fee paid online or a simple hold; delivery by Nexum Pharma or by the pharmacy.
An SMS offers to continue on the web; call recording turns on if the pharmacy wants it.
A flow per caller type, all audio messages gathered in one place, ready to listen to.
Settings recorded in Nexum Pro on 16 September 2026. ● available in the app. Real back-office screenshots, no customer data.
Installation
No change of carrier, no technician on site: a permanent call forward sends calls from the usual number to Nexum's dedicated line. If the pharmacy's line does not allow it, Nexum ships an already configured box.

The pharmacy keeps its number and its carrier. It forwards its line to the number supplied by Nexum, from its phone or its carrier's interface, with the step-by-step guide in Nexum Pro. For customers, nothing changes: they call the same number as before.

Nexum assigns the pharmacy a French 09 number on which forwarded calls arrive. That is the number the voice assistant answers; it appears in the Standard vocal area of Nexum Pro.

A Grandstream HT802 box delivered already configured: the network cable into the router, the power supply, the pharmacy's phone into the Phone 1 port. Seven guided steps, about ten minutes, and the lights turn blue. It carries the return line, with unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in mainland France.
When the pharmacy's installation is more complex, the Nexum team adapts: several lines, several handsets, an existing switchboard to keep. It has been the case since the first pharmacies were equipped.
Prices excl. VAT as of 1 July 2026. Remote activation, in under 48 hours. Box: Grandstream HT802, customer guide of 16 September 2026.

What pharmacy owners ask before connecting their switchboard.
It answers the pharmacy’s calls, 24/7. It identifies the reason for the call — product availability, reservation, delivery, prescription, opening hours, message — and sees it through: reservation set aside, link sent by SMS, message transcribed, or transfer to the team. Fewer lost calls, and a counter no longer interrupted by repetitive questions.
No, it supports the team. It takes the repetitive calls — “do you have this product?”, “what time do you open?” — and transfers to the team anything that requires a pharmacist. No medical advice, ever: no dose, no interaction, no symptom. The team stays in control, and focuses on advice, dispensing and preparing prescriptions.
Remotely, with no technician and no change of operator: the pharmacy forwards its line to the number assigned by Nexum, using its operator's guide in Nexum Pro, and sets up its greeting, options and opening hours from the setup assistant. The voice assistant is set up and running in under 48 hours.
In most pharmacies, no: call forwarding is enough. When the line cannot receive transferred calls, Nexum ships a pre-configured Grandstream HT802 box: network cable to the router, power supply, phone on the Phone 1 port, about ten minutes in all. It carries the return line with unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in mainland France, and accepts a single phone or a “master” base with its handsets. It is billed €49 once on Essentiel, included on Premium and Intégrale; for a more complex installation (several lines, existing switchboard), Nexum orders and configures a suitable box.
The voice assistant reads the pharmacy's stock through the stock connection, a single connector to the main pharmacy management software providers; real-time reading depends on the software. On the phone side, it works by call forwarding with the current carrier; if the line doesn't allow it, the Nexum unit takes over.
It does not guess. If the product is not recognised after confirmation, the switchboard offers to switch to the web by SMS — the customer completes their request on nexumpharma.fr —, to leave a transcribed message for the team, or to be transferred. The customer never leaves without a solution, and the pharmacy sees every call in its history.
The demonstration runs on the pharmacy's own scenarios: its greeting, its opening hours, its stock. The calculator first puts a figure on what missed calls are costing it.
